PIERRE LEMIEUX (1904 - ) Was President of the Centre français from 1958 to '60, Treasurer through most of the '60s, and the Director of Observations from 1960-65. As Treasurer he was instrumental in getting an annual grant from Quebec's Ministry of Cultural Affairs for the Centre's library. He promoted astronomy by visiting religious communities and arranging observing nights; he spoke to the Centre on space travel and eclipses, and designed and explained a new version of the Almanach graphique. For his devotion to amateur astronomy in Montreal, he was presented with the Service Award in 1966.
