PREFACE
The Handbook for 1915 differs from that for last year chiefly in the omission of the brief review of astronomical progress, and the addition of (1) a table of double stars, (2) a table of variable stars, and (3) a table containing 272 stars and 5 nebulae. This last table was prepared by Mr. W. E. Harper, M.A., and gives in a concise form a mass of useful and interesting information regarding the brighter stars. It will be found a valuable feature. Other minor alterations and corrections have been made which will render the work more usable.
The Editor is indebted to those whose names are mentioned in the body of the book, to Mr. R. M. Stewart, M.A., and to some of his assistants at the University of Toronto.
The Editor.
