International Astronomy Day: A Celebration of Astronomy

Saturday April 27 10am - 4pm and 7pm - 11pm

Have you ever wondered about planets around other stars? The physics of Angry Birds? How to make a telescope? Taking pictures of the night sky? We have the answers! Please join the Victoria Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada on Saturday April 27 at UVic's Bob Wright Building from 10am to 4pm, and 7pm to 11pm. Experience these topics and more!

The daytime events include astrophotography, astronomy and travel, real-time solar viewing (weather permitting), science demonstrations, walk among the planets,and even a draw to win a beautiful telescope!

The evening portion includes a talk by Dr. Christian Marois about the latest exoplanetary discoveries, and night sky viewing with UVic's 32" telescope (weather permitting) All ages welcome!

Admision is FREE. Parking is only $2.25 all day.
