THE ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY OF CANADA ________________________________________ Bulletin No. 15 PLANETARY SECTION Greetings! This is the last bulletin that you will receive under this heading. This does NOT mean that Planetary Bulletins will not be issued any longer, but merely that the various Sections have been abolished and the Job of co-ordinating observations has been given to C000CA. Present co-ordinators will, in many cases act as part of and consultants to COCOCA, but COCOCA as a whole will be responsible for the maintenance of our programs. The planetary program, as outlined in Bulletins 7-15, will continue as usual, so keep those observations coming in. I have been a bit slower than usual in returning observations to their owners, but this has been on purpose. Rather than try to extract information from them in bits and pieces, I am waiting until the end of apparition of a planet, processing the observations, and then returning them. Thus, observations of Venus and Jupiter will be returned soon. Observations of Mercury will be printed in a forthcoming issue of the National News letter as a result of our labours. Observers should be focussing their attention on Saturn these nights and making all sorts of measurements. Don't forget that we still need observations of Jupiter and Venus too! Thank you for your support and cooperation. Best wishes for clear skies and good seeing. Kenneth E. Chilton, National Co-ordinator, Planetary Section, 93 Currie Street, Hamilton 57, Ontario. Phone: 416-388-0586 1 October, 1970.
