THE ROYAL ASTRONOMECAL SOCIETY OF CANADA STANDING COMMITTEE ON OBSERVATIONAL ACTIVITIES Bulletin No. 9 COMET AND NOVA SECTION GENERAL ASSEMBLY, 1967 The Gernal Assembly will be held in Montreal from May 19 to 21, and it is planned to have a display showing same of the observations of comets made during the past year by R.A.S.C. meters in this Section. If you, or members of your Centre, made comet observations in this period, please send me copies for consideration as a part of this display - photographs, drawings or written reports. NEW COMET SEKI (1967b) T. Seki, of Japan, discovered his fourth comet in six years on February 4, 1967. It is currently visible in the morning hours with a small telescore. No ephemeris is available, but the foflowing positions were reported: 1967 U.T. R.A. (1950) Dec. NOTES The summary for 1966 is not ready in time for this Bulletin and will be in- cluded in the next. Harever, it appears 1966 was a good year for this Section ..... David Levy of the Montreal Centre recently completed 60 hours of telescopic comet hunting with his 8-inch reflector ....Hugh N.A. Maclean of the Niagara Falls Centre made 22 observations of Comet Kilston since the report in the Bulletin No.8.....Jos. Matte of the Centre de Quebec reported three more observations of Comet Kilston, two of Comet Barbon and one of Comet Ikeya-Everhart. Is your Centre participating in this program?
